Personality:  Kyungsoo's personality On vs Offstage is starkingly different. Onstage, Kyungsoo acts like the person he idolised during his youth, a badboy, who's suave and flirtatious with the ladies. Offstage, he is a bit stiff and really awkward, unable to really interact with others his age. He doesn't have much confidence in himself and is insecure, believing that everyone else is better than him at everything, this applies to body image as well. He isn't very consistent. Dancing is his main talent but he can sing as well although it's like a lottery sometimes he can sing well and then the other times he just sounds really tone deaf. When he really feels threatened or in a predicament that he can't handle he will act like the person he idolises, it's a way for him to cope since he can then pretend that he isn't himself, this leads one to question he's really being truthful. Perhaps he chose this onstage persona because it is the exact opposite of himself. When you finally get him to relax he can be very lively and clingy, he might even slip into his country accent. He's pretty sheltered and he's aware of that so he can be overly cautious at times. He's respectful and speaks pretty formally having grown up around old people for the most part, he's more likely to relax around an elderly person than someone his own age. Online(twitter), he is still a bit stiff however it is much easier for him to communicate with others, you might even catch him making jokes(sometimes on accident).

History: Kyungsoo grew up on a farm in a rural South Korea raised by his grandparents. His mother gave birth to him at a young age, afterwards she left him in the care of his grandparents choosing to continue her studies and get her life back on track since his father wasn't in the picture. He was homeschooled, having to endure copious hours each day under the care of his grandparents who were both school teachers back in their day. At the age of 13 or so, his granddad who was the strictest of the two finally(and begrudgingly) allowed him a laptop and wifi, not too soon afterwards he discovered kpop and was mesmerised by it. There was this one idol that he really loved who he thought was really cool and danced well, oftentimes he'd be found trying out the dance moves in his room. When he was 16, his granddad passed away from pancreatic cancer and it was then that kyungsoo went through a rough time, deciding to give up on his dreams especially since he didn't want to leave his grandma all alone. At 18, his grandma tried to persuade him that she was fine alone and that he should go out and do what he needs to do, he was too afraid to do so he held on stubbornly until she kicked him out as a last resort. It was then that he became a kpop trainee, later on being accepted into SOS (much to his surprise).


Fun Facts: -He called himself melon because melon is his fav fruit and he remembers a time when they had a lot of melons from the harvest
                   -His best friend(who he misses a lot right now)is a chicken by the name of ''Pikachu'' which his grandparents gave to him when he asked for a dog on                         his 12th birthday. He told Pikachu all of his deepest and darkest secrets including him discovering that he was gay; only his chicken knows. 
                   -''haha granny I'll stay here forever and help you with the farm'' were the words he said before he got kicked out-
